Big Island weekly lane closures for July 6-12

The Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation is alerting Big Island motorists about its scheduled lane closures for the week of July 6-12.

The schedule can change at any time without notice. All projects are weather permitting.

— MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY/HAWAIʻI BELT ROAD (HIGHWAY 11) — 

PĀHALA 

Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile posts 53 and 55 Monday through Friday, July 8-12, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for grass and vegetation cutting.

CAPTAIN COOK 

Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile posts 97 and 104 in the vicinity of Haleili Street and Filipino Clubhouse Road on Monday through Friday, July 8-12, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for crews to work on safety improvements on the roadway. 

— MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY (HIGHWAY 190) —  

WAIKŌLOA 

Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile posts 13 and 16 on Monday through Friday, July 8-12, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for shoulder work and vegetation cutting.

— KEALAKEHE PARKWAY (HIGHWAY 197) —  

KAILUA-KONA 

Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile postS 0.17 and 0.40 in the vicinity of Kamanu Street on Monday through Friday, July 8-12, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for lay out of shared use path striping and signs. 

— DANIEL K. INOUYE HIGHWAY/SADDLE ROAD (HIGHWAY 200) —   

HILO

Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile posts 10 and 14 on Monday through Friday, July 8-12, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for shoulder work.  

 — ‘AKAKA FALLS ROAD (HIGHWAY 220) — 

HONOMŪ 

Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile posts 0 and 3.7 in the vicinity of Hawai‘i Belt Road and ‘Akaka Falls State Park on Monday, July 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting. 

— KOHALA MOUNTAIN ROAD (HIGHWAY 250) — 

KAPA‘AU  

Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile posts 6.2 and 10.6 on Monday through Friday through Friday, July 8-12, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for over-banding in designated areas as part of the Kohala Mountain Road resurfacing project.  

  — PUAINAKO STREET (HIGHWAY 2000) — 

HILO 

Single lane closure possible in either direction in the vicinity of Kanoelehua Avenue and Komohana Street on Monday through Friday, July 8-12, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for paving the roadway for the Puainako Street widening project.
