Office of Hawaiian Affairs awards $25,000 Kako‘o grant to La‘i‘ōpua 2020
La‘i‘ōpua 2020, a nonprofit dedicated to providing support and opportunities to Native Hawaiians, has been awarded a $25,000 Kako‘o Grant from the Office of Hawaiian Affairs.
The Kako‘o grant will fortify La‘i‘ōpua 2020ʻs ability to deliver essential services to its Native Hawaiian community and, by offsetting the cost of accounting services, financial audits, business insurance and payroll processing fees, will provide La‘i‘ōpua 2020 with the capability to expand its programs and services.
La‘i‘opua 2020ʻs mission is to foster social, recreational, vocational, economic, educational, and cultural opportunities, as well as to develop workforce development opportunities for Native Hawaiians, particularly those within the Villages of La‘i‘ōpua and surrounding communities.
“We are deeply honored to receive this grant from the Office of Hawaiian Affairs,” said Kawehi Inaba, Executive Director of La‘i‘ōpua 2020. “This generous support will empower us to expand our services and contribute towards the growth and well being of the Native Hawaiian community.”
