Kona Dance and Performing Arts holding keiki-friendly open house on Aug. 5
Kona Dance and Performing Arts, which is about to begin its 8th season in Kealakekua, is holding an open house.
The keiki-friendly open house on Aug. 5 runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and offers free classes, performances, crafts and face painting.
This season, Kona Dance offers and average of classes for ages 3 to adult in two main sessions, with an average of 182 class slots per session.
Its mission is to provide high quality education and instruction in dance and performing arts to the local youth and the Big Island Community. Its vision is to empower families through dance and performing arts.
“This upcoming season is robust and offers something for everyone,” said Managing Director Ali Drummond.
There is a 10-month session that runs Aug. 14, 2022 to May 31, 2023. There also is a monthly program with open level classes or drop-in, and several master classes with world renowned teaching artists from across the globe.
At the end of the season, there will be a live performance open to the public held at the Kahilu Theatre.
