Police seek help identifying person of interest in theft from Kea‘au retail store

Big Island police are asking if anyone can identify a man they are calling a person of interest in a reported theft earlier this month at a Kea‘au retail store.

An unidentified man was observed at 7:15 p.m. Feb. 17 on video surveillance in a restricted area inside the business located on Old Volcano Road. Shortly thereafter, several items were missing from this area. He is described as possibly in his 20s, having a thin build and a fair complexion with dark hair. He was last seen wearing a pink hooded jacket.

Anyone who recognizes the man is asked to call Officer Gregory Horton at 808-965-2716, email him at [email protected] or call the Hawai‘i Police Department’s nonemergency line at 808-935-3311.
