Police Seek Suspect Who Used Counterfeit Bill

Big Island police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a person responsible for using a counterfeit bill to complete a transaction Tuesday, Jan. 25, at a store in Kea‘au.

The suspect is described as a Polynesian female about 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighing 200 pounds.

Police ask anyone with information about the identity of the suspect to call Officer Calvin Furtado at 808-965-2716 or the police department’s nonemergency line at 808-935-3311.

Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 808-961-8300 and could be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
