Looking Ahead
A weakening front will pass through Kauai and into Oahu today, then push southeastward into Maui County tonight. Scattered showers are expected along the front as it moves through, with windward areas the most likely locations to see rain. Meanwhile, a trough of low pressure over the Big Island will slowly dissipate through Monday, with scattered mainly afternoon and evening showers expected here. The previously mentioned front will stall out over Maui County Monday, then slowly dissipate through Tuesday as high pressure builds to the north of the island chain. Remnant moisture left behind by the front and trough will keep windward sections of the eastern islands showery through much of the week. Across Kauai and Oahu however, drier air will filter in by Monday afternoon, with light showers limited to primarily windward and mauka areas through the remainder of the week.
