The Hawai’i Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying an individual or individuals who damaged several grave monuments and concrete vase holders at Kapoho Zairyumin Kai Japanese Cemetery on Kapoho Lighthouse Road.

Authorities say the damage was reported on April 21 after a cemetery caretakers discovered that monuments and vase holders had been tampered with and damaged.
The damage occurred between April 10 and April 21. Preliminary damage estimates total about $4,200.

Anyone with information should call Officer Roberto Segobia directly at 965-2716 or the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311.
Individuals with information who prefer to remain anonymous should call the Big Island Crime Stoppers number at 961-8300.
