Hawai’i Bankers Association Launches State-Wide Foodbank Drive

The Hawai’i Foodbank, which partners with 200 member agencies, including the Hawai’i Island Food Basket, will benefit from the ninth annual Foodbank Drive launched by the Hawai’i Bankers Association.

Nearly 300 bank branches across Hawai’i, including American Savings Bank, Bank of Hawai’i, Bank of the Orient, Central Pacific Bank, Finance Factors, First Foundation Bank, First Hawaiian Bank, Hawai’i National Bank, Homestreet Bank, Ohana Pacific Bank, and Territorial Saving Bank, are collecting food and monetary donations. The campaign kicked off on April 18 and will run through May 31.

“We are pleased once again to collect donations to feed the hungry in our community.  Donations to the Hawai’i Foodbank provide food assistance to 287,000 residents in our state,” said Edward Y. W. Pei, Executive Director of the Hawai’i Bankers Association. “Last year, our customers and employees contributed 29,000 pounds of food and almost $77,000 in monetary donations.  The need is greater than ever and we need your help.”

Non-perishable food items in need include meats, rice, soups, vegetables, and fruits.
