No Tsunami Threat Following 6.6M Vanuatu Earthquake
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center says there is no tsunami threat to Hawai’i following a 6.6 magnitude earthquake that occurred in Vanuatu.
According to PTWC, the earthquake occurred Tuesday at 11:50 a.m. Hawai’i time.
United States Geological Survey officials say the earthquake was located 54.7 miles northwest of Port Olry, Vanuatu; 84.5 miles northwest of Luganville, Vanuatu; 252.9 miles north-northwest of Port-Vila, Vanuatu; 441.2 miles north of We, New Caledonia; and 521.3 miles north of Paita, New Caledonia.
