Puna Robbery Under Investigation

badge 123The Hawai’i Police Department is investigating a robbery that took place in Puna early Tuesday morning.

Police responded to Captain’s Drive in Fern Forest after receiving a 1:44 a.m. call.

A 55-year-old man, who has no permanent address, reported that he stopped to help a stranded motorist and was robbed at gunpoint of his sports-utility vehicle.

The vehicle is described as a 1996 GMC Jimmy with the license plate GPE 575.
