North Hilo Police Station to Close for Maintenance

badge 123The Hawai’i Police Department’s North Hilo police station, located in Laupahoehoe, will close Monday, Jan. 18 through Tuesday, Jan. 19 for maintenance and repairs, according to HPD officials.

Authorities say the station is set to reopen on Wednesday, Jan. 20.

Those interested in registering a firearm during the scheduled closure should make an appointment at either the South Hilo police station by calling 961-2239 or at the Honoka’a police station by calling 775-7533.

Messages may be left for officers stationed in North Hilo by calling the Honoka’a police station at 775-7533.

Anyone in need of emergency assistance should call 9-1-1. Those in need of non-emergency police assistance should call the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311.
