Twenty-nine-year-old Dustin K. Faris was charged with two offenses in connection to a robbery at two Hilo stores on Thursday.

Hawai’i Police Department officers responded to the 300 block of Maka’ala Street on Thursday at 11:14 a.m., where  a 19-year-old man reported that he was sitting in a vehicle in the parking lot when a man entered the passenger door and demanded cash.

Police say the victim was then ordered to go into two different stores to withdraw cash from automated-teller machines.

Faris was arrested outside of the second store, and was taken to the Hilo police cellblock as Area I Criminal Investigations detectives continued to investigate the incident.

On Thursday evening, Faris was charged with second-degree robbery and first-degree unauthorized entry of a motor vehicle.

Faris’ bail was set at $7,000.
