No Tsunami Threat Following 6.6M Papua Earthquake

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center says there is no tsunami threat to Hawai’i following a 6.6 magnitude earthquake near the north coast of Papua.
According to the PTWC, the earthquake occurred Thursday at 5:54 a.m. Hawai’i time.
United States Geological Survey officials say the earthquake was located 17 miles north of Sorong, Indonesia; 195 miles west of Manokwari, Indonesia; 245 miles northeast of Amahai, Indonesia; 275 miles southeast of Tobelo, Indonesia; and 589 miles south-southwest of Koror Town, Palau.
