No Tsunami Threat Following 6.4M Solomon Islands Earthquake

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center says there is no tsunami threat to Hawai’i following a 6.4 magnitude earthquake near the Solomon Islands.
According to the PTWC, the earthquake occurred Sunday at 8:49 a.m. Hawai’i time.
United States Geological Survey officials say the earthquake was located 112 miles southeast of Gizo, Soloman Islands; 137 miles west of Honiara, Soloman Islands; 269 miles southeast of Arawa, Papua New Guinea; 517 miles east of Alotau, Papua New Guinea; and 518 miles southeast of Kokopi, Papua New Guinea.
