The Department of Water Supply will hold a public meeting on Aug. 25, addressing the consideration and adoption of a new cost of Power Adjustment Clause. The clause would be in accordance with the Hawai’i Revised Statutes Chapter 54, Part III.

DWS officials say the Tuesday community meeting will be held at the West Hawai’i Civic Center’s Community Center, Building G, beginning at 9:45 a.m.

Customers are currently paying $2.32 per thousand gallons in a Power Cost Charge. The amount is proposed to decrease to reflect DWS’ power supply costs, bringing the rate to $1.85.

If the rate is approved by the Water Board, the rate will go into effect the first day of the month, following confirmed approval.
