No Tsunami Threat Following 6.5M Fiji Earthquake

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center says there is no tsunami threat to Hawai’i following a 6.5 magnitude earthquake in the Fiji region.

According to the PTWC, the earthquake occurred Sunday at 11:28 a.m. Hawai’i time.

United States Geological Survey officials say the earthquake was located 26 miles east-northeast of Ndoi Island, Fiji; 209 miles west-northwest of Nuku’alofa, Tonga; 263 miles southeast of Suva, Fiji; 314 miles south-southeast of Lambasa, Fiji; and 331 miles southeast of Nadi, Fiji.
