A temporary water shut-off has been announced by the Department of Water Supply for the Mohouli Senior Residences Facility. Both sides of the South end of Kahikini Street, from the Ohukea Street and Kahikini Street intersection in the Sunrise Ridge subdivision, will also be affected.

The disruption in water service will be conducted from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. as DWS personnel install a new waterline connection for the Hilo Adult Day Center.

Customers may experience turbid or discolored water after the shut-off, following the flushing and cleaning of the waterlines. Trapped air may also be noticed in the plumbing and will be disbursed as water is used.

DWS officials suggest that customers in the affected areas take any precautions necessary to protect their property, including disabling devices that may be dependent on water or water pressure.
