Hawai’i Island Police officers have located and arrested 29-year-old Jeffrey DeCastro, who was sought after for questioning in a September robbery case.

The robbery incident happened on Sept. 15. On that day, authorities say that a suspect allegedly punched and choked a 32-year-old Hilo woman at a home on Pilipa’a St. before stealing her cell phone and purse.

In a release issued Friday, HPD says that DeCastro was arrested Sept. 19 on suspicion of robbery. He was released a day later while an investigation into the incident continued.
