Waiakea Uka Man Charged with Meth Trafficking

A Hilo man was being held in lieu of $301,000 bail after being charged with methamphetamine trafficking and other offenses.

Police serving a search warrant Monday on a Waiakea Uka home arrested Wesley Kailimai after allegedly finding nearly three ounces of crystal meth, paraphernalia associated with its distribution and a little more than an ounce of marijuana.

Police said the meth had an estimated street value of $17,500.

Kailimai was charged today with first-degree meth trafficking, two counts of promotion of a dangerous drug, three counts of drug paraphernalia and a single count of promotion of a detrimental drug.

He remained in the Hilo cellblock today pending an initial court appearance on Wednesday.
