Funding Extended for UH-Hilo Tropical Ecosystem Research

The National Science Foundation has renewed a $5 million grant to the University of Hawaii at Hilo for environmental research.

The grant is the second phase of funding for UH-Hilo’s Tropical Conservation Biology and Environmental Science Program.

The funding, which comes from the foundation’s Centers for Research Excellence in Science and Technology Program, involves faculty research of changes in tropical ecosystems.

The NSF grant extends the research for an additional five years.
