2 fire hydrant flow tests planned in separate areas of Hilo, Puna
Hawaiʻi County Department of Water Supply notifies the public about two upcoming fire hydrant flow tests.

The first is scheduled for 10 to 11 p.m. July 23 along Kāwili Street within the campus are of University of Hawai‘i at Hilo. Customers along West Kāwili Street — between West Pūʻainakō, West Lanikāula, West Kapiʻolani and Komohana streets — will be affected.
The second is slated for 10 to 11 p.m. July 28 along Paradise Drive in Puna. Customers along Paradise Drive — between Keaʻau-Pāhoa Road (Highway 130) and 22nd Avenue — will be affected.
Affected customers in both flow test areas could experience slightly discolored and turbid water for several hours after the test.
Customers are advised to refrain from washing clothes and store a container of water for their drinking needs until the supply of water is restored to normal.
“Please pardon this temporary inconvenience,” said Department of Water Supply officials in the notifications for the tests.
