2 elderly men found dead under suspicious circumstances less than day apart at different homes on same Puna road
Hawai‘i Island police are investigating the suspicious deaths of two men in separate incidents that happened less than a day apart from each other in different blocks of the same Puna road.

Puna Patrol officers responded shortly before 9 p.m. Monday, May 25, to the report of a dead elderly man at a residence in the 14-000 block of Papaya Farms Road in Pāhoa.
Officers located a deceased man upon their arrival at the home.
Detectives with Hawai‘i Police Department Area I Criminal Investigation Section responded to the scene because of suspicious circumstances surrounding the man’s death.
Puna Patrol officers just after 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, responded again to Papaya Farms Road, this time to a residence in the 14-300 block, locating another dead elderly man upon their arrival at that home.
The second deceased man also had suspicious injuries.
Detectives with the Area I Criminal Investigation Section were called to the second scene as well.
Positive identification of the two men is pending.
Autopsies will be performed Wednesday, May 27, on both victims to determine their exact causes of death.
Both investigations remain active. Area I Criminal Investigation Section detectives continuing to investigate.
