22 lane closures scheduled during week of April 18-24 on Big Island state roadways
Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announces the following 22 scheduled lane closures and road work projects on Big Island state roadways on weekdays throughout the week of April 18-24.

HIGHWAY 11
HILO TO VOLCANO
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 0.0 and 36 in the vicinity of Banyan Drive, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. April 20-24 for removal of existing striping and installation of centerline rumble strip, striping and pavement markers.
MOUNTAIN VIEW
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 17 and 19 in the vicinity of Maka Hinu Street, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 20-24 for mulching vegetation.
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 17 and 21, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 20-24 for cutting vegetation.
PĀHALA
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 46 and 48 in the vicinity of Kapāpala Road, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 20-24 for cutting vegetation.
NĀʻĀLEHU
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 63 and 64 in the vicinity of Kaʻalāiki Road, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 20-24 for tree trimming.
HONALO
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 109 and 118 in the vicinity of Koa Road and Judd Trail, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. April 20-24 for removal of existing striping and applying new striping and pavement markers.
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 113.7 and 114 in the vicinity of West Honalo Road and Paul Road, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 20-24 for installation of speed humps and speed table.
HONALO TO KAILUA-KONA
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 113.7 and 121.1 in the vicinity of Māmalahoa Highway and Palani Road, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 20-24 for striping.
KEAUHOU
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 114 and 115 in the vicinity of West Honalo Road and Puʻuloa Road, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 20-24 for cutting vegetation.
KAILUA-KONA
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 119 and 121 in the vicinity of Kuakini Highway and Poni Place, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 20-24 for shoulder stabilization.

PEPE‘EKEO MILL TO WAILEA
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 11.5 and 15 in the vicinity of Overpass Road and Chin Chuck Road, from April 18-24 for emergency road repairs. One lane open for alternating traffic.
NĪNOLE
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 17.9 and 18.2 in the vicinity of Government Main Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 20-24 for work on Nanue Bridge.
PĀPAʻALOA
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 21 and 22 in the vicinity of Kaihuiki Road and Uweki Road, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 20-24 for tree trimming and shoulder work.
ʻŌʻŌKALA
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 29.8 and 32 in the vicinity of Kaʻawaliʻi Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 20-24 for work on Kāholo Stream Bridge.
HIGHWAY 130
KEAʻAU TO KAIMŪ
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 0.0 and 21.8 in the vicinity of Māmalahoa Highway and Kaimū-Chain of Craters Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 20-24 for removal of existing striping and applying new striping and pavement markers.
KEAʻAU
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 1 and 2 in the vicinity of Pāhoa Road, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 20-24 for cutting vegetation.
HIGHWAY 190
WAIMEA
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 0.0 and 1 in the vicinity of Lindsey Road and Lālamilo Farm Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 20-24 for installing new striping and turn pockets.
SOUTH KOHALA
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 9.5 and 10, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 21 for bridge inspection.
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 12.2 and 16.4, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 20-24 for installation of new striping.
HIGHWAY 250
KAPAʻAU
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 2 and 6, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 20-24 for shoulder work and vegetation cutting.

- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 1.1 and 1.15, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 20 for bridge inspection.
HIGHWAY 2000
HILO
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 0.5 and 2.2 in the vicinity of Kanoelehua Avenue and Komohana Street, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 20-24 for repairing and painting asphalt curbs and direction arrows.
