Why sit in a stuffy building to practice your faith? Instead, praise under the heavens and enjoy creation itself outside with good music, fellowship and family-friendly activities.

Attend Big Island Gospel Jam Festival from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today (Feb. 1) at Moʻoheau Bandstand, located in beautiful downtown Hilo along the shore of Hilo Bay.

It’s a full day of live gospel music — hosted by Hilo Seventh-Day Adventist Church — that brings together local musicians, testimonies, prayer, games and food trucks, all centered on keeping Christ in focus.

Visit the prayer tent for an introspective moment with the Creator on your own. Stop by the health tent for some good information and advice. Be sure the keiki get some time in the kid zone.

And it’s free to attend.

“So please invite your friends to have fun with us!” exclaimed the church in its website calendar announcement. “Come fellowship and be inspired and have a wonderful time!”
