in December 2015.

Eddie Steve Seenarine, 50, of Volcano, was reported missing on Christmas Day in 2015. He was last seen in the Volcano area on Sept. 30, 2015.

In June of this year, Hawai‘i Island police were alerted to the discovery of human skeletal remains in a forested area on the 11-3800 block of 6th Avenue in Volcano, which is in close proximity to where Seenarine lived.

The remains were identified as Seenarine by DNA comparison. A forensic pathologist and forensic anthropologist conducted separate examinations of the remains and concluded there were no traumatic injuries or indication of foul play, according to a news release from police on Tuesday.
