Vulcan sophomores Freeman, Garcia top women’s volleyball postseason awards

University of Hawai‘i at Hilo women’s volleyball sophomores Malu Garcia and Isabella Freeman earned honors with postseason All-Conference and All-Region accolades.
Both were voted to the All-PacWest First Team and Garcia was named the conference’s Newcomer of the Year.
Garcia was also listed as an American Volleyball Coaches Association All-America Honorable Mention after landing on the volleyball coaches association West All-Region First Team.
Freeman led the West Region in total blocks and finished top 10 in the entire NCAA Division II. The second-year sophomore was voted All-PacWest First Team and to the Division II Conference Commissioners Association All-West Region First Team.

Junior middle blocker/opposite Chase Koepke from Long Beach, Calif., was also named to the PacWest Championships All-Tournament Team after putting down 17 kills (.441), four digs and one block in the semifinal matchup between the Vulcans and Point Loma.
