Orchid Isle Ford’s annual food drive underway
Orchid Isle Ford’s second annual “Fill the Ford” Food Drive is underway to support Hawai‘i Island Food Basket.
With a goal to surpass the 1,327 pounds of food collected in 2024, the dealership has set up two collection sites at their business locations in Kona, 76-6319 Kuakini Highway, and in Hilo, 1030 Kanoelehua Ave., where a Ford F-150 will be parked onsite to serve as the collection point, with additional trucks added as each one fills up.

The drive runs till Nov. 15. All donations collected in Hilo and Kona will go directly to the Food Basket for islandwide distribution.
“Last year, our community came together in an incredible way—filling trucks, donating over 1,300 pounds of food, and helping fund more than 24,000 meals,” said Shannon Atkinson, Marketing Coordinator at Orchid Isle Ford. “This year, we’re setting the bar even higher. Our goal is simple: fill more trucks, feed more families, and continue driving hunger out of the Big Island.”
Community members are encouraged to drop off non-perishable and shelf-stable food items like canned vegetables, canned meats, pasta, rice, nut butter and baby formula. Make sure all items are unopened, unexpired and in decent condition.
Drop off food any time during the dealership’s normal business hours Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
