Interest-free payment options available to electric customers affected by government shutdown

Hawaiian Electric customers experiencing financial hardship because of the ongoing federal government shutdown might be eligible for interest-free monthly installment plans for their electric bills.

These options include payment arrangement plans or extensions on their monthly bills.

Customers can submit an online request form to ask about these options or call Hawaiian Electric’s customer service at:

  • HILO: 808-969-6999.
  • KONA: 808-329-3584.
  • WAIMEA: 808-885-4605.

Hawaiian Electric can also refer customers to financial assistance programs administered by nonprofit organizations and government agencies.
