Update at 3:39 p.m. Aug. 13, 2025: Hawaiʻi Police Department reports 59-year-old Elizabeth Stearns, who was previously reported as an endangered missing person, was located in good health.

The department thanks the public for its assistance and cooperation with finding Stearns.

Stearns is 5-foot-7, about 148 pounds, white, with a shaved or bald head. She was last seen at about 11:30 a.m. Aug. 9 on ʻAmaʻu Road in Hilo.

Anyone with information that can help locate Stearns is urged to immediately call 9-1-1 or the Hawaiʻi Police Department non-emergency line at 808-935-3311.
