Scheduled Hawai‘i Island lane closures on state roadways for July 5-11
Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announces the following lane closures and road work projects for state roadways on the Big Island during the week of July 5-11.

KANOELEHUA AVENUE (HIGHWAY 11)
HILO
- POCKET LANE CLOSURE in both directions between mile posts 3.1 and 3.2, in the vicinity of Waiʻanuhea Place, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. July 8-11 for turn pocket maintenance.
- LEFT POCKET CLOSURE in the southbound direction between mile posts 3.8 and 3.9, in the vicinity of Kīlauea Avenue and Lama Street, from 8:30 and 11:30 a.m. July 8-11 for turn pocket maintenance.
VOLCANO ROAD (HIGHWAY 11)
HILO
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 19 and 20, in the vicinity of North Glenwood Road, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 7-11 for mowing and shoulder work.
- ROVING LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 27.3 and 30.9, in the vicinity of Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park and Mauna Loa Road, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 7-11 for Hawaiian Electric installing a new pole and wires.
MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY (HIGHWAY 11)

SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 50 to 52, in the vicinity of Maile Street, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 7-11 for cutting grass.
HŌNAUNAU
SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 97 and 104, in the vicinity of Haleili Road and Filipino Clubhouse Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 7-11 for safety improvements.
CAPTAIN COOK
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 107 tand 109.5, in the vicinity of Rabbit Hill Road and Greenwell Park, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 7-11 for cutting grass and shoulder work.
HAWAI‘I BELT ROAD (HIGHWAY 19)
PĀPAʻIKOU
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 7.5 and 7.9, in the vicinity of Kalaoa Camp Road and Puʻu Moi Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 8-10 for maintenance of the Kalaoa Bridge.
HONOKAʻA
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 43 and 44, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 7-11 for mulching and shoulder work.
MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY (HIGHWAY 190)
WAIMEA
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 0 and 1, in the vicinity of Lindsey Road and Lālamilo Farm Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 7-11 for paving and striping.
SOUTH KOHALA
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 12.2 and 16.4, in the vicinity of Saddle Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 7-11 for paving and striping.
KOHALA MOUNTAIN ROAD (HIGHWAY 250)
KAPA‘AU
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 8 and 9.5 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 7-11 for tree trimming and shoulder work.

- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction at mile post 19.2, in the vicinity of Old Millstack Road, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 7-11 for cutting grass.
PŪʻAINAKŌ STREET (HIGHWAY 2000)
HILO
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 0.5 and 2.2, in the vicinity of Kanoelehua Avenue and Komohana Street, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 7-11 for striping and installing new raised pavement markers.
