Update: 77-year-old man last seen more than a year ago found in good health on O’ahu

Update at 5:45 p.m. May 16, 2025: Hawai’i Island police report that 77-year-old Charles Poole, who was previously reported missing a year ago, was located in good health on O’ahu.

He was last seen more than a year ago on April 9, 2024, on Pāhoa Village Road on the Big Island and later reported missing.

Original post from June 6, 2024: Hawai’i Island police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating 77-year-old Charles Poole.

He was last seen on Pāhoa Village Road on April 9, however, not reported missing until recently.

Poole is described as having a fair complexion and is six feet two inches tall and 185 pounds with long gray hair and blue eyes. He is known to frequent various locations around Hawai‘i Island.

Police ask anyone with information on Poole’s location to call the police department’s non-emergency line at 808-935-3311.
