New toll-free number to report electricity outages on Hawai‘i Island
Hawaiian Electric is improving its outage reporting system on Hawai‘i Island and elsewhere throughout the state, and as part of those upgrades the existing electricity outage reporting phone number for the Big Island has been replaced as of today with a toll-free number.
The new toll-free number to report outages is 1-855-304-9191.
The refurbished reporting system now will automatically recognize a caller’s phone number and account if they call from the number associated with their account, similar to O‘ahu’s toll-free trouble line.
Customers will be able to quickly and easily report an outage through the automated system anytime without waiting to speak with an agent.
Customers are encouraged to ensure the phone number attached to their Hawaiian Electric account is up to date so they get the most benefit from the new reporting system.
