Scheduled Hawai‘i Island lane closures on state roadways for April 26-May 2

Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announces the following lane closures and road work projects for state roadways on the Big Island during the week of April 26 through May 2.

VOLCANO ROAD (HIGHWAY 11)

KURTISTOWN

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 9.8 and 10.2, in the vicinity of Huina Road and Ualani Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 28 through May 2 for installation of a new waterline.

MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY (HIGHWAY 11)

PĀHALA

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 54 aand 56 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 26 for cutting grass.

NĀʻĀLEHU

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 60 abd 62 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 28 through May 2 for cutting grass.

HŌNAUNAU

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 97.2 and 104.7, in the vicinity of Hālēʻi Road and Filipino Clubhouse Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 28 through May 3. for safety improvements.

CAPTAIN COOK

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 108 and 109, in the vicinity of Government Main Road and Koa Road, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 26 for mowing and shoulder work.

HŌLUALOA

• ROVING LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 113.9 and 115.6, on Monday, from 8 a.m. to noon April 28 through May 2 for replacing pavement markers.
• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 117 and 118, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 26 and 28 for mowing.

HAWAI‘I BELT ROAD (HIGHWAY 19)

HILO

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 2.3 and 2.7, in the vicinity of Kānoa Street, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 28 through May 2 for geotechnical work.
• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 4 and 5, in the vicinity of Kahoa Place, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 26 for mowing.

PĀPAI‘KOU

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 6 and 8, in the vicinity of Indian Tree Road, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 28 through May 2 for tree trimming, mowing, and shoulder work.

HONOMŪ TO HAKALAU

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 13.5 and 15, in the vicinity of Honomū Road and Chin Chuck Road, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 26 for tree trimming and shoulder work.

NĪNOLE

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 19.73 and 19.75 from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. May 2 for Manoloa Bridge maintenance.

KAWAIHAE ROAD (HIGHWAY 19)

KAWAIHAE

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 62 and 66 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 26 for cutting grass.

KEA‘AU-PĀHOA ROAD (HIGHWAY 130)

KEA‘AU

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 1 and 2.5, in the vicinity of ‘Ōpūkaha‘ia Street, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 28 through May 2 for cutting grass.

PĀHOA-KALAPANA ROAD (HIGHWAY 130)

PĀHOA

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 19 and 21 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 26 for cutting grass, tree trimming and shoulder work.

MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY (HIGHWAY 190)

WAIMEA

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 0 and 1, in the vicinity of Lindsey Road and Lālāmilo Farm Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 28 through May 2 for paving and striping.

SOUTH KOHALA

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 9.7 and 12.2 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 28 through May 2 for striping and installation of raised pavement markers.
• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 12.2 and 16.4 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 28 through May 2 for paving and striping.

DANIEL K. INOUYE HIGHWAY (HIGHWAY 200)

HILO

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 6 and 8 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 28 through May 2 for shoulder work.

KOHALA MOUNTAIN ROAD (HIGHWAY 250)

KOHALA

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 9 and 16 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 28 through May 2 for mowing and tree trimming.

‘AKONI PULE HIGHWAY (HIGHWAY 270)

KAWAIHAE

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 3 and 12 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 26 for shoulder work and cleaning of culverts.
• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 8 and 15 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 28 through May 2 for cleaning of culverts and tree trimming.

PŪʻAINAKŌ STREET (HIGHWAY 2000)

HILO

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 0.5 and 2.2, in the vicinity of Kanoelehua Avenue and Komohana Street, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 28 through May 2 for striping and installing raised pavement markers.
