Scheduled Hawai‘i Island lane closures on state roadways for April 12-18

Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announces the following lane closures and road work projects for state roadways on the Big Island during the week of April 12-18.

NOTE: In observance of Good Friday April 18, there will be no contraflow or lane closures unless otherwise permitted.

KANOELEHUA AVENUE (HIGHWAY 11)

HILO

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 0 and 2.5, in the vicinity of Ahona Place, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 14-17 for mulching and shoulder work.
  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 0 and 3, in the vicinity of East Palai Street, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. today (April 12) for mulching and shoulder work.
  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 2 and 4, in the vicinity of East Pūʻainakō Street and Lama Street, on Monday, April 14 to Thursday, April 17, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for mowing.

MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY (HIGHWAY 11)

NĀʻĀLEHU

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 56 and 57 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. today (April 12) for cutting grass.
  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 65 and 67 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 14-17 for cutting grass.

HŌNAUNAU

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 97.3 and 104.7, in the vicinity of Hālēʻi Road and Filipino Clubhouse Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 14-17 for safety improvements.

CAPTAIN COOK

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 107.3 and 108, in the vicinity of Rabbit Hill and Government Main Road, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 14-17 for mowing and shoulder work.

  • ROVING SINGLE LANE CLOSURE with SHIFT in the center of the road between mile posts 114 and 115.6, in the vicinity of W. Hōnalo Road and Ihilani Place, from 9 a.m. to noon April 14-17 for pavement marking.

HAWAIʻI BELT ROAD (HIGHWAY 19)

HILO

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 2.7 and 4, in the vicinity of Kanoa Street, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 14-17 for cutting grass.

HONOMŪ TO HAKALAU

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 13 and 15, in the vicinity of Chin Chuck Road, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 14-17 for tree trimming and shoulder work.

HAKALAU

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 14 and 15, in the vicinity of Old Māmalahoa Highway and Chin Chuck Road, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. today (April 12) for tree trimming.
  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 15.3 and 15.4, in the vicinity of Old Māmalahoa, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 17 for bridge maintenance.

HONOHINA/NĪNOLE

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 17.6 and 17.7 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 16 for bridge maintenance.

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 30 and 30.1, in the vicinity of Old Māmalahoa Highway, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. April 15 for bridge maintenance.

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 62 and 67 from 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. April 14-17 for cutting grass.

QUEEN KA‘AHUMANU HIGHWAY (HIGHWAY 19)

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 67 and 71, in the vicinity of Kawaihae Road and past Puakō Beach Drive, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. today (April 12) for cutting grass.

PĀHOA-KALAPANA ROAD (HIGHWAY 130)

PĀHOA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 12 and 14 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. today (April 12) for cutting grass.

MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY (HIGHWAY 190)

WAIMEA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 0 and 1, in the vicinity of Lindsey Road and Lālāmilo Farm Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 14-17 for paving and striping.

SOUTH KOHALA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 9.7 and 12.2 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 14-17 for striping and installation of raised pavement markers.
  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 12.2 and 16.4 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 14-17 for paving and striping.

‘AKAKA FALLS ROAD (HIGHWAY 220)

HONOMŪ

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 0 and 3.7, in the vicinity of Hawai‘i Belt Road, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. today (April 12) for cutting grass.

‘AKONI PULE HIGHWAY (HIGHWAY 270)

KAWAIHAE

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 3 and 5 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. today (April 12) for shoulder work.

MĀHUKONA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 7 and 12 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 14-17 for culvert cleaning and shoulder work.

PŪʻAINAKŌ STREET (HIGHWAY 2000)

HILO

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 0.5 and 2.2, in the vicinity of Kanoelehua Avenue and Komohana Street, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 14-17 for striping and installing raised pavement markers.
