Hawai’i Volcanoes releases body-worn camera footage from March 2025 officer involved shooting

As part of the National Park Service’s established protocol regarding officer-involved shootings, Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park has released body-worn camera footage from a March 4, 2025, officer involved shooting.
The community briefing video shows significant sections of the body-worn camera footage from some of the involved law enforcement officers. The video is intended to help community members gain a better understanding of what occurred.
The suspect in the video, Isaiah Kaleo Jiaan Fourshey, was sought by police after he allegedly shot and killed Latisha Soares, the sister of his ex-girlfriend.
Around 6 p.m., the Hawaiʻi Police Department notified National Park Law Enforcement Officers that a vehicle possibly associated with Fourshey was located in the Nāmakanipaio Campground inside Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park.
This incident is still under investigation. The investigation, which includes the actions taken by National Park Service law enforcement officers, is being led by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
