Scheduled Big Island lane closures for Feb. 16-21

The Hawai‘i Department of Transportation notifies the public about its scheduled lane closures for Feb. 16-21 on the Big Island.

In observance of Presidents Day on Monday, there will be no contraflow set up or lane closures unless otherwise permitted.

Lane closures can change at any time without notice. All projects are weather permitting.

A map of the scheduled lane closures can be found online.

— VOLCANO ROAD/MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY (HIGHWAY 11) —

Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile posts 49 and 51, in the vicinity of Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Feb. 18-21 for vegetation cutting.

PĀPA

Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile posts 83 and 86 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Feb. 18-21 for vegetation cutting.

HŌNAUNAU

Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile posts 97.3 and 104.7, in the vicinity of Haleili Road and Filipino Clubhouse Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 18-21 for safety improvements.

— HAWAI‘I BELT ROAD (HIGHWAY 19) —

LAUPĀHOEHOE

Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile posts 25 and 29, in the vicinity of Puʻualaea Homestead Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Feb. 18-21 for vegetation cutting.

LAUPĀHOEHOE

Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile posts 26 and 27, in the vicinity of Jardine Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. from Feb. 18-21 for tree trimming.

— QUEEN KA‘AHUMANU HIGHWAY (HIGHWAY 19) —

KAILUA-KONA

Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile posts 96 and 98, in the vicinity of Hale Makai Place, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Feb. 18-21 for drainage cleaning and documentation of inlets.

— MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY (HIGHWAY 190) —

WAIMEA

Single lane closure in the northbound direction between mile posts 0 and 1, in the vicinity of Lindsey Road and Lālāmilo Farm Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 18-21 for paving. Northbound will be detoured to Ala ‘Ōhi‘a Road. Southbound is open to local traffic only.

SOUTH KOHALA

Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile posts 12.2 and 16.4 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 18-21 for paving and striping.

— KOHALA MOUNTAIN ROAD (HIGHWAY 250) —

KAPA‘AU

Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile posts 9 and 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Feb. 18-21 for tree trimming and mowing.
