University of Hawai‘i community colleges lower summer tuition

Community colleges of the University of Hawai‘i system are making education even more accessible for the people of Hawai‘i.

Tuition rates for summer courses will be reduced at the 7 community college campuses throughout the state, which include:

• Hawai‘i Community College (Hilo, Kō Education Center in Honoka‘a and Pālamanui in Kailua-Kona).
• Honolulu Community College.
• Kapi‘olani Community College (Honolulu).
• Kaua‘i Community College (Līhuʻe, Kauaʻi).
• Leeward Community College (Pearl City, Oʻahu).
• Maui Community College (Kahului, Maui, campus and education centers in in Hana, Maui, and on Molokaʻi and Lānaʻi).
• Windward Community College (Kāneʻohe, Oʻahu).

Summer tuition will match fall and spring semester costs at just $131 per credit for Hawai‘i residents, which will allow students to save money, graduate faster and explore new interests while staying on track academically.

“With reduced tuition rates, students have the perfect opportunity to get ahead, balance their regular semester workloads or even try something new — at a fraction of the cost,” said University of Hawai‘i Community Colleges Interim Vice President Della Teraoka.

The summer course schedule will released in March, with registration opening in April.

Students are encouraged to take full advantage of the lower tuition rates by securing their spot as soon as registration opens. Register early, as classes fill up quickly.
