The Department of Water Supply will conduct a fire hydrant flow test in North Kona this month.

The test will start at 11 a.m. on Wednesday and will impact customers along Kalani Street between Queen Ka‘ahumanu and Kuakini Highways, Alahou and Lamaokeola Streets between Ala ‘Ona‘ona and Alakai Streets, along with side roads and lanes.

The test will continue until midnight.

The affected area may experience slightly discolored and turbid water for several hours after the test, county officials stated. Customers are advised to refrain from washing clothes and to store a container of water for their drinking needs until the supply of water is restored to normal.
