On Tuesday morning, the Hawai‘i Police Department – in coordination with the Hawai‘i National Guard – will be conducting a tactical exercise at Waiākea High School in Hilo on the Big Island from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

“This exercise is part of an ongoing training program to ensure that your Hawai‘i County Police Department is prepared to respond to all the possible threats to your safety on Hawai‘i Island,” the Hawai‘i County Civil Defense Agency said Monday.

“If you are in the area, do not be alarmed as armed police officers will be moving around the campus as part of this exercise,” the agency continued.
