Firearm allegedly discharged near Hilo restaurant and bar

Hawai‘i Island police are seeking information in connection with a reckless endangering investigation where a firearm was allegedly discharged near a Hilo business.

Just after 3:30 a.m. March 16, Hilo patrol officers responded to a restaurant and bar in the 1500 block of Kamehameha Avenue after staff members reported hearing 2 to 5 gunshots in the area.

Responding officers conducted checks in the area and recovered spent ammunition rounds on the walkway in front of the main entrance of a government building located adjacent to the business.

At this time, there are no reported injuries as a result of the firearm being discharged.
