A road closure will temporarily restrict vehicles from the Tree Molds recreational area off Mauna Loa Road, according to Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park staff.

The temporary closure of Tree Molds Road and recreational area to vehicles is due to heavy equipment operations. Pedestrians will be allowed access but must use caution and yield to trucks and machinery on the roadway.

The temporary closure begins March 21 and will run through early April, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The road and Tree Molds area will be open to vehicles at all other times.
