Puʻuhonua o Hōnaunau National Historical Park on Hawai‘i Island will remain closed Monday due to a high surf advisory issued by the National Weather Service.

High surf has flooded the Puʻuhonua and the Royal Grounds.

“The safety of our employees and our visitors are always our number one priority,” Keola Awong, Supervisory Park Ranger, said. “We will reassess conditions tomorrow morning to determine when we can safely open the park.”
