Water customers along Kekūanaō‘a Street in Hilo, from Kanoelehua Avenue to the Hilo International Airport and including all side roads and lanes, are notified that the Hawai’i County Department of Water Supply will be conducting a fire hydrant flow test from 10 to 11 p.m. Jan. 18.

The affected area could experience slightly discolored and turbid water for several hours after the test.

Customers are advised to refrain from washing clothes and store a container of water for their drinking needs until the supply of water is restored to normal.

Should customers in the impacted area experience any unusual problems during or after the flushing period, call district supervisor Carl Nishimura at 808-961-8790.
