Police seek missing Puna man Daniel Martinsen

Hawaiʻi Island police are searching for 38-year-old Daniel Martinsen who was last seen by family members at his residence located on 15th Avenue, in Kea’au on Wednesday. 

He is described as being 5’07” tall, weighing approximately 165 pounds, having a light complexion with short light brown hair, brown eyes, and having an unshaven beard and mustache. Martinsen often wears a t-shirt, shorts and slippers. He has a tribal band tattoo on his left upper bicep and he also has an “Irish Trinity” tattoo.

Martinsen is known to frequent the lower Puna area and may possibly be operating a 2020, gray in color, Toyota Tundra which has State of New Mexico license plates on it.

Police ask anyone with information on Martinsen’s location to call the police department’s non-emergency line at 808-935-3311.

Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call the island-wide Crime Stoppers number at 961-8300 and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000. Crime Stoppers is a volunteer program run by ordinary citizens who want to keep their community safe. Crime Stoppers does not record calls or subscribe to any Caller ID service.
