Update at noon Nov. 23: Big Island police report that 13-year -old Justine Kawaa, who was previously reported as an endangered runaway, was located Nov. 23 in good health in Hilo.

Original story from 8:26 p.m. Nov. 22: Big Island police are asking for the public’s help with locating 13-year-old Justine Kawaa, who was reported as a runaway and considered an endangered missing child because of her age.

Kawaa was last seen at 5:41 p.m. Wednesday near the intersection of West Puainako Street and Kanoelehua Avenue in Hilo. She was wearing a black hooded sweater, a gray crop top shirt and gray pants and was carrying a backpack.

She is part-Hawaiian with a light complexion, 5-foot-1, 145 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to call the Hawai‘i Police Department’s non-emergency line at 808-935-3311
