In honor of the “Merrie Monarch”, King David Kalākaua, Outrigger Kona Resort & Spa and Nā Wai Iwi Ola Foundation will host the 6th annual Kauʻikeaouli Hula Festival and 17th annual E Mau Ana Ka Hula Festival on Friday and Saturday.

The festival will take place on the resort’s 22-acre Bayview Grounds, showcasing various styles of hula by students from across Hawaiʻi, Europe and Japan.

The festivities begin on Nov. 17 with the 6th annual Kau‘ikeaouli Hula Festival, exclusively held for local students to propagate understanding of Hawaiian culture from various teachers, students and practitioners.

On the following day, Nov. 18, the public is welcome to join in on the fun at the free, family-friendly 17th annual E Mau Ana Ka Hula Festival, with enthralling performances from multiple hula hālau (hula schools).
