Big Island police continue search for Puna woman missing since July 2022

Big Island police are again renewing their plea for information that could lead to the whereabouts of a Puna woman who has been missing for more than a year.

The Hawai‘i Police Department says 42-year-old Jennifer Michelle Showen of Hawaiian Shores has not been seen nor heard from since July 2022 and her family and friends are deeply concerned for her welfare. Showen is originally from Montana; however, she relocated to the Big Island several years ago with her two young sons, who are back in Montana with family.

Showen is described as about 5-foot-7, 150 pounds, with dirty-blondish hair. The red Hummer H3 she owned and operated has since been located and recovered.
