Hawai‘i police suspect foul play in Puna man’s disappearance

Jarryd Lee Kalanihuli Ah Quin

Hawai‘i Island police are renewing their request for information regarding 37-year-old Jarryd Lee Kalanihuli Ah Quin who was reported missing in 2019. Ah Quin was 34 years old when he last seen in the Hawaiian Beaches subdivision area during the early morning hours of Oct. 4, 2019.

He is described as a local, 5 feet 8 inches tall, 230 pounds, with black hair (shaved) and brown eyes.

Over the course of this investigation, detectives with the Area I Criminal Investigation Section have conducted countless interviews, completed forensic analysis of cellphone and financial records and followed up on numerous tips from the public.

Although not confirmed, police do suspect foul play may be involved in this case.

Police ask anyone with information to call the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 808-935-3311. Callers who wish to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at (808) 961-8300.
