Ocean View man in critical condition after shooting, police arrest neighbor

A 32-year-old Ocean View man is in critical condition after suffering three gunshot wounds Saturday following an altercation with his neighbor.

The Hawai’i Police Department (HPD) said they arrested Thomas Allen, 47, of Ocean View, for attempted murder in relation to the incident.

An official statement from HPD said Ka‘u patrol officers responded to a report at around 2:30 p.m. Saturday of a man with a gunshot wound at the 92-8000 block of Leilani Parkway in Hawaiian Ocean View Estates.

According to the release, upon arrival, officers determined the victim received three gunshots wounds as a result of an alleged altercation with Allen.

The Hawai’i Fire Department transported the victim to Kona Community Hospital where he is currently in critical, but stable, condition. He is expected to be transported to Queens Medical Center on Oahu for further treatment.
