Pāhala Public & School Library to reopen Nov. 1 after repairs from earthquake damage

The Pāhala Public & School Library on the Big Island will reopen its doors to the public on Nov 1.

The library at 96-3150 Pikake St. had been closed temporarily due to damage caused by the Oct. 14 earthquakes on Mauna Loa’s flanks. The repairs have been completed, according to the Hawaiʻi State Public Library System.

Pahala Public & School Library’s service hours are: 

  • Tuesday: 12 – 3 p.m.; 4 – 7 p.m.
  • Thursday: 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.; 2 – 4 p.m.

“We are grateful to our patrons for your patience and support during this closure,” State Librarian Stacey Aldrich said.
